Kai Rintala is currently the Managing Director of Taaleri Energia at Taaleri. Kai has over 15 years of experience in infrastructure, energy, and transportation projects.
Kai began their career as a Postdoctoral Research Fellow at the University of Cape Town. Kai then worked at KPMG UK as an Associate Director, before moving to KPMG Finland, where they served as Director of the Infrastructure and Projects Group. In this role, Kai was responsible for leading KPMG’s work on energy, transportation, and social infrastructure projects in Finland.
Kai has extensive experience in advising on infrastructure strategy, procurement, financing, risk management, and M&A transactions. Kai has also coordinated KPMG’s global infrastructure thought leadership activities, producing research and commentary on the marketplace.
In their current role at Taaleri, Kai is responsible for Taaleri’s energy business. This includes investments in renewable energy, such as wind and solar power, as well as energy storage and efficiency.
Kai Rintala has a PhD in Construction Economics from UCL, an MPhil in Civil Engineering from the University of Strathclyde, and an MSc in Construction Management from Glasgow Caledonian University. Kai also has an MSc in Industrial Eng & Mgt from Tampere University of Technology.
Kai Rintala reports to Robin Lindahl, Group CEO. They work with Janne Koikkalainen - General Counsel, Titta Elomaa - CEO, Garantia, and Minna Smedsten - CFO.
