Cliff G. has extensive work experience in various roles related to data engineering, architecture, and solutions architecture. Cliff is currently working as a Principal Solutions Architect at Tabular since 2023, where they lead and designs solutions. Before that, they worked at Amazon Web Services (AWS) as a Principal Specialist Solutions Architect - Streaming Data from 2022 to 2023.

From 2021 to 2022, Cliff served as VP - Technical Group Product Manager - Streaming Data Platform at U.S. Bank, where they managed technical product development. Prior to that, they were a Principal Solutions Architect - Streaming Data Specialist at Amazon Web Services (AWS) from 2020 to 2021. In this role, they served as a subject matter expert on Kinesis, Kafka, Flink, and other streaming data platforms, and was responsible for designing best practices and architectural references.

From 2017 to 2020, Cliff worked at Confluent, first as a Principal - Advanced Technology Group, where they provided technical expertise on Apache Kafka and the Confluent Enterprise platform. Later, they served as a Sr. Pre-Sales Solutions Architect, evangelizing Kafka's features and the Confluent platform.

Cliff also has experience as a Practice Director - Data Engineering and Decision Science at 1904labs in 2016, leading the data engineering and decision science practice. Cliff worked at DataStax as a Principal Solutions Architect - Vanguard Team from 2013 to 2016, supporting deployments of Apache Cassandra and providing guidance to customers.

Earlier in their career, Cliff worked at Teradata as a Sr. Big Data Architect - Hadoop/BigData COE in 2012, and at Monsanto as a Big Data Architect from 2012 to 2012, where they designed software solutions and provided Hadoop expertise for Integrated Farming Systems.

Cliff's career started at Thomson Reuters in 2007, where they worked as a Lead Data Engineer, designing and developing software for market pricing timeseries data storage and distribution. Cliff also worked on Proof of Concept projects for new technologies like Oracle Exadata and Apache Cassandra.

Cliff G. holds a Master of Science (MS) degree in Computer Science from the University of Missouri-Saint Louis, which they obtained in 2010. Prior to that, they earned a Bachelor of Science (BS) degree in Computer Science from the same university, graduating in 2003. In terms of additional certifications, Cliff obtained the AWS Certified Solutions Architect – Associate certification from Amazon Web Services (AWS) in February 2021.
