Training and Support Specialist at TAC Computer

John Theiss has worked in the criminal justice technology field since 2000. John began their career as a Police Dispatcher for Madison Township in 2009. In 2017, they joined TAC Computer Inc as a Training and Support Specialist, providing on-site training and live support for new agencies. Prior to that, they worked at Lakeland Community College as a Dispatch and Security Systems Coordinator - Police Communications Officer/Supervisor. In this role, they supervised, coordinated, researched, instructed, troubleshot, and served as a department liaison for many different criminal justice technology systems, including Computer Aided Dispatch (CAD), Records Management System (RMS), Mobile Data Terminals (MDT), mass notification/messaging systems (SchoolMessenger), social media, voice recorder (NICE), and the Law Enforcement Automated Data System (LEADS). John also acted as Security Administrator and assisted with managing a 400+ IP based security camera system. Additionally, they served as a Continuing Education Instructor.

John Theiss received their Associate's Degree in Criminal Justice/Law Enforcement Administration from Lakeland Community College between 1999 and 2001. Prior to that, they attended Chardon High School from 1996 to 1999. Additionally, John has obtained four certifications: Certified USA Football Youth Coach from USA Football in August 2021, Public Safety Telecommunicator from APCO International in May 2019, National Weather Service Skywarn Spotter from NWS in November 2006, and Psychological Crisis and Psychological Trauma Management from Lakeland Community College in 2004.
