Robert Lauer

Lead Data Scientist at Tagup

Robert Lauer has worked in various roles in the field of data science since 2006. From 2006-2011, they were a Doctoral Researcher at DESY, where they developed new methods to search for extraterrestrial neutrinos. From 2011-2018, they were a Research Assistant Professor and Postdoctoral Research Fellow at The University of New Mexico, where they managed international teams of scientists, performed complex data modeling, and traced the origins of the most energetic cosmic particles. In 2018, they became a Data Scientist at CiBO Technologies, where they optimized data sourcing and ETL for crop simulation and agricultural yield analysis, reduced data processing workload, and automated data ingestion and outlier detection. Since 2019, they have been the Lead Data Scientist at Tagup, Inc., where they are managing the development and deploying of state-of-the-art machine learning solutions, bridging the gap between customers and engineers, and controlling optimization for direct lowering resource consumption and operating costs in the HVAC sector.

Robert Lauer has a Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) in Physics from Humboldt-Universität zu Berlin, which they obtained between 2007 and 2010. Prior to that, they obtained a Diploma in Physics from RWTH Aachen University between 2000 and 2006. Robert also spent one year, from 2001 to 2002, studying Physics and Astronomy at the University of Nottingham. In addition, Robert has obtained two certifications from Udemy, Stairway to Scala Applied in August 2018 and Data Science, Deep Learning, & Machine Learning with Python in February 2018.
