Taking Root
Alex Little has a diverse work experience spanning multiple industries. They started their career as a Cashier Customer Service at Home Hardware Stores Limited in 2015. In 2016, they worked as a Junior Accountant at BNA Brewing Co. & Eatery, gaining valuable experience in cash and payables. From 2017 to 2021, Alex worked as a Senior Accountant at Grant Thornton LLP, where they handled compilation, review, and audit engagements for clients. In 2021, they transitioned to Aspen Planers Ltd as a Divisional Controller. Currently, Alex holds the position of Accounting Controller at Taking Root, an organization that supports smallholder farmers in growing trees and earning money from carbon removal.
Alex Little's education history begins with their high school education at Handsworth Secondary School, which took place from 2007 to 2012. Following this, they pursued a Bachelor of Management degree at UBC Faculty of Management from 2012 to 2016, majoring in Accounting. Currently, Alex is enrolled in the Chartered Professional Accountants of Canada (CPA Canada) program, working towards becoming a Chartered Professional Accountant in the field of Accounting.

Please note that Taking Root's technology platform was formerly called FARM-TRACE. This name was dropped in April 2022 when Taking Root rebranded, which included integrating the technology platform into its identity. FARM-TRACE is now referred to as Taking Root’s technology platform.
