Matei Micu has a diverse range of work experience in the field of infrastructure and software engineering. Matei has worked at various companies, including Taktile, Prisma, Hotjar, Mambu, Wantsome, and Cloudbase Solutions.
At Taktile, Matei is currently working as a Senior Infrastructure/Software Engineer.
Prior to that, at Prisma, they worked as a Senior Infrastructure/Software Engineer, where they focused on developing the Prisma Data Platform and enhancing infrastructure monitoring primarily on AWS.
Before Prisma, Matei worked at Hotjar as a Software Engineer, SRE. In this role, they enhanced the AWS infrastructure's security, backup procedures, and disaster recovery capabilities, and introduced a new incident process.
Matei also has experience at Mambu, where they worked as a Platform and Reliability Engineer (SRE) and a DevOps Engineer. In these roles, they designed a new infrastructure platform, developed a GitOps-style release process for microservices, and automated the disaster recovery strategy.
Additionally, Matei worked as a Technical Trainer at Wantsome, where they provided training in technical subjects. Matei also worked as a Graduate Teaching Assistant at the Faculty of Computer Science, Alexandru Ioan Cuza University of Iasi, teaching Open Source Working Methodologies to third-year students.
Earlier in their career, Matei worked as a Cloud Engineer at Cloudbase Solutions, where they supported the OpenStack ecosystem by developing and updating related Open Source projects.

Matei Micu obtained a Master's degree in Computer Science with a focus on Distributed Systems and Cloud Computing from Universitatea "Alexandru Ioan Cuza" din Iași. Matei completed their Master's degree from 2018 to 2021. Prior to that, Matei earned their Bachelor's degree in Computer Science from the same university, which they attended from 2015 to 2018.
In addition to their formal education, Matei Micu has obtained several certifications from The Linux Foundation. These certifications include CKAD (Certified Kubernetes Application Developer) in October 2022, CKA (Certified Kubernetes Administrator) and KCNA (Kubernetes and Cloud Native Associate) both in August 2022, and CKS (Certified Kubernetes Security Specialist) in November 2022.
