Joan Estera

Joan Estera has accumulated extensive work experience in finance and risk management. Joan currently holds the position of Head of Risk - Finance at TAL Australia since January 2021. Prior to this, they worked at Macquarie Group for several years in various roles. These roles include Global Head of Finance Operational Risk Management (2018-2020), Head of Regional Finance and Head of Finance Operational Risk Management - Asia (2017-2018), Head of Regional Finance - Asia (2015-2018), Financial Controller for Macquarie Personal Banking-Direct and Macquarie Credit Cards (2014-2015), and Senior Finance Manager (Management Reporting and Analysis for Macquarie Personal Banking) (2013-2014). Joan also had prior experience as a Senior Finance Manager for Macquarie Private Wealth (2012-2013). Before joining Macquarie Group, Joan worked at PwC as a Senior Audit Accountant (2001-2004). In their various roles, Joan has been responsible for financial control, reporting, analysis, and risk management in the banking and financial services industry.

Joan Estera has a diverse education history. Joan obtained a Certification in Taxation from Monarch Institute in 2022. Prior to that, they completed a Bachelor of Commerce (BCom) in Accounting from the University of Sydney from 1998 to 2001. In addition to their formal education, Joan has also acquired additional certifications, including a Certificate in Executive Management and Development and a Risk Specialisation Program, both from AGSM @ UNSW Business School in 2023. Joan also holds the ICAA certification, although the institution and year of acquisition for this certification are not specified.
