Muhammad Atef

Muhammad Atef has a diverse work experience spanning various roles in data science and engineering. Muhammad started their career as a Teaching Assistant at the German University in Cairo from September 2010 to January 2012. Muhammad then joined Trustious in January 2012 as a Machine Learning Engineer, where they were responsible for building a social platform for reviews on products and services. Muhammad worked on various aspects such as Recommender Systems, Ranking, Item Similarity, Website Speed, and Internal Tools. In June 2015, they moved to Optima as a Data Scientist until September 2016.

In October 2016, Muhammad joined Careem as a Senior Data Scientist. Muhammad later took on the role of Data Science and Engineering Manager from April 2018 to January 2020, where they oversaw both the data science and engineering departments. From January 2020 to March 2021, they served as the Director of Data Science at Careem.

Most recently, Muhammad Atef joined talabat in March 2021 as the Director of Machine Learning, and they are currently serving as the Senior Director of Data Science and Engineering since July 2023.

Muhammad Atef obtained a Bachelor of Science (B.Sc.) degree in Computer Science from The German University in Cairo, where they studied from 2005 to 2010. Muhammad then pursued a Master of Science (M.Sc.) degree in Computer Science from the same university and completed it from 2010 to 2011.
