Ed Baum

Ed Baum has a diverse work experience spanning several companies and industries. Ed is currently the COO/Co-Founder of TalentGenius since January 2022. Prior to that, they served as an Advisor/CEO Mentor at Alchemist Accelerator starting in 2015. In 2019, they became an Advisor/Co-Founder at Chai Vault, and their role ended in 2021.

Before their recent roles, Baum worked at Cisco for a significant period, joining in 2005. Ed held various positions during their time there, including VP Cloud Platform & Services and Vice President, Strategy, Planning + Bold Initiatives. In these roles, they led global strategy, planning, investment portfolio management, and governance processes for Cisco's services division. Baum played a critical role in driving growth from $4B in FY 2006 to $10B in FY 2012. Ed also led numerous strategic engagements, such as Cisco's launch into data center virtualization, managed services, cloud, XaaS, globalization, and the Internet of Things (IoT). Additionally, they owned the strategic planning process, investment tracking, reporting, management, and investment reallocation processes for Cisco Services' portfolio. Baum was promoted from Director to Senior Director in 2009 and then to Vice President in 2013.

Prior to joining Cisco, Baum worked as an Independent Strategy Consultant in 2005 and served as CFO & COO at CXO Systems from 2002 to 2005. At CXO Systems, they grew the company into a global software company with solid technology, predictable revenue, and significant customers. Ed raised a total of $11M through two rounds of VC funding.

Baum's earlier experience includes being a Partner at Tactical Consulting from 2001 to 2002, Vice President of Marketing at Cambridge Information Network/Cambridge Technology Partners from 1995 to 2000, Director at Axiom Management Consulting from 1990 to 1995, and Senior Management Information Consultant at Accenture from 1986 to 1988.
