Tangaroa Blue Foundation is an Australian-wide not-for-profit organisation dedicated to the removal and prevention of marine debris, one of the most significant environmental challenges facing our oceans.

To tackle ocean plastic at scale, we established the Australian Marine Debris Initiative (AMDI): a national, on-ground network of volunteers, communities, and more than 3,000 partner organisations. Together, AMDI partners collect standardised data through beach and waterway clean-ups across Australia.

This evidence is used to identify debris sources, inform solutions, influence plastic policy, and support peer-reviewed science — while empowering communities and driving lasting change with industry and government.
