James Cochran is a seasoned cybersecurity professional with extensive experience in threat hunting and endpoint security. Currently serving as a Senior Threat Hunter and Director of Endpoint Security at Tanium since December 2018, James has a strong track record of developing threat hunting strategies and incident response workflows, alongside creating Proof-of-Concepts to enhance endpoint detection capabilities. Prior to this, James managed significant cybersecurity operations at Marine Corps Forces Cyberspace Command from July 2014 to November 2018, overseeing teams responsible for executing high-profile threat detection initiatives and ensuring the security of critical systems. Additionally, James has experience managing IT operations within the United States Marine Corps, ensuring high availability of critical infrastructure. Academic credentials include a Master’s Degree in Information Technology from Virginia Tech and a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration from the University of Missouri-Columbia, complemented by further education in Expeditionary Warfare.
