Nigel Sheinwald

Sir Nigel Sheinwald is a former British diplomat with extensive experience in international business and policy. They served as British Ambassador to the United States from 2007 to 2012 and to the European Union from 2000 to 2003, in addition to acting as Foreign Policy and Defence Adviser to the Prime Minister from 2003 to 2007. Since exiting the Diplomatic Service in 2012, they have held positions such as Non Executive Director for Invesco Ltd and Oxford Instruments plc, and Chair of the Royal Institute of International Affairs (Chatham House). They currently contribute as a Visiting Professor at King's College London and as a Senior Adviser to Universal Music Group and Tanium Inc. Nigel, who holds an MA in Classics from Balliol College, Oxford, was knighted in 2001 and awarded a GCMG in 2011.
