Prashanth Dappula is the Chief Product Officer at Tappy. Prashanth previously worked as a Sr. Design Specialist for the Chief Technology Office at TELUS from 2010 to 2014. In this role, they led application design and development for multiple mobile application projects. Prashanth also drove innovation strategy by developing solutions leveraging various evolving technologies like NFC, iBeacons, Passbook, and sharing the knowledge across different TELUS departments.

Prashanth played a key role in deploying a mobile payment solution for VISA payWave and MasterCard PayPass technology on a mobile phone while working with industry experts including Canadian bank partners, SIM vendors, payment application vendors, TSM operators, and device manufacturers. Prashanth also provided technical expertise on mobile application platforms to TELUS Chief Security Office in executing non-payment NFC use cases such as physical building access and VPN access.

In addition to their work at TELUS, Prashanth has also represented TELUS in various technical meetings and conferences with respect to the mobile industry. Prashanth has maintained relationships with mobile platform vendors like Apple, Google, BlackBerry, Microsoft, and various mobile device manufacturers (Samsung, LG, and HTC). Prashanth is responsible for driving device requirements and writing technical specifications for carrier-specific requirements.

Prashanth has also developed and socialized mobile applications and proof of concepts as part of TELUS CTO initiatives. Prashanth has worked with business, marketing, and network solution teams at various levels.

Prashanth Dappula has a Bachelor of Computer Applications from Osmania University in the field of Computer Science.
