Rory Stoness

Rory Stoness is a seasoned Drilling and Completions Technologist with extensive experience in the oil and gas industry. Currently employed at TAQA Group since September 2024, Rory previously held the position of Technical Specialist at Iron Horse Energy Services from June 2021 to September 2024, and also at Calfrac Well Services between May 2014 and May 2021. At Calfrac, Rory contributed to the planning, execution, and post-job analysis of fracturing treatments in the Western Canadian Sedimentary Basin (WCSB), while gaining valuable training through roles focused on real-world applications in fracturing and coiled tubing operations. Additional experience includes serving as Marketing Director for the Student Petroleum Society and prior hands-on roles at Calfrac and AKITA Drilling, where Rory developed a comprehensive understanding of technical operations and industry technologies. Rory holds a degree in Petroleum Engineering Technology from the Southern Alberta Institute of Technology.
