Stephen Wackerle

Stephen Wackerle serves as the Chief Risk Officer at TAQA Group since July 2020, providing leadership and oversight across various critical areas including Health, Safety, Cyber Security, and Enterprise Risk. Prior to this role, Stephen was the Chief Risk and Internal Audit Officer at both TAQA Group and Abu Dhabi Power Corporation, contributing significantly to executive-level strategy and the successful reverse merger of the two organizations. With extensive experience in risk management at BP for almost two decades, Stephen held various leadership positions, including Head of Group Risk and Group Risk Director, where strategic direction on risk governance was established. Stephen began the professional journey as an Audit Senior at Mazars, following academic achievements with a Bachelor of Commerce and a Post Graduate Diploma in Accounting from the University of Cape Town.
