Taraxa AS is a Norwegian materials science company developing scalable, plant-based alternatives to microplastics and petroleum-based rubber.

Our mission is to enable the transition from extractive, fossil-based materials to regenerative, biobased material systems—starting with applications where environmental impact and regulatory pressure are highest.

Taraxa’s first product, Lionfill™, is a biobased turf infill made primarily from natural rubber. Lionfill is engineered to match the performance of conventional synthetic infills while addressing growing concerns around microplastic pollution, player safety, and regulatory compliance.

Our materials are designed for environments where durability, performance, and sustainability must coexist.

Taraxa combines materials science, agronomy, and industrial scalability to bring biobased solutions from prototype to market. We work closely with partners across the value chain—from research to manufacturing and deployment.
