Surendra began the professional journey as a CA article student at Praveen Kumar P & Co, Chartered Accountants. Educational credentials include a Master of Business Administration (M.B.A.) in Finance from Sikkim Manipal University and a B.Com. degree from Bangalore University, along with Article Student training from The Institute of Chartered Accountants of India.
