Joe Bergesen, PhD, is an experienced sustainability scientist focused on life-cycle assessment (LCA), carbon footprinting, and renewable energy. They currently serve as a Senior Manager of Impact Profit and Loss at Target. Previously, Joe held positions including Senior Manager of Environmental Science & Impact at Apeel, Director of Research at VitalMetrics Group, and Sustainability Science Researcher at Amazon, where they led initiatives on carbon footprint quantification. Joe earned a PhD in Environmental Science & Management from the Bren School at UC Santa Barbara, alongside other degrees and significant teaching experience.
