Nathan Smith has over a decade of experience in engineering and web development, currently serving as the Director of Engineering for Search & Recommendations Experiences at Target since August 2018. In this role, Nathan leads teams to enhance search, discovery, and personalization experiences for one of America's largest retailers. Previously, Nathan held positions at Object Partners, Inc., where work included leading UI development for multiple teams and managing mobile web app development, and at Digital River, where Nathan developed a React Component library for eCommerce applications. Nathan also has experience as a Senior Webmaster at Qumu and as an Internet Marketing Manager in a freelance capacity. Nathan holds a B.A. in Classical Civilization, Religious Studies, and Ancient Mediterranean Studies from the University of Minnesota.
