Shawn Larson

Shawn Larson is an experienced engineering leader with a robust background in software development, currently serving as the Director of Engineering at Target since July 2016. In this role, Shawn has successfully led multiple engineering teams while promoting a culture of trust and experimentation, focusing on high-volume applications with an emphasis on stability and reliability. Previous experiences include positions as a Principal and Lead Software Engineer at Target, contributing to significant projects such as the migration of target.com’s cart and checkout pages and maintaining exceptional uptime. Shawn's earlier roles include Software Engineering Manager at Smart Social Media, Inc., and Senior Front End Engineer at Novu LLC, where expertise in various technologies and team leadership were pivotal. Shawn began a career in technology as a Front-End Developer, culminating a strong foundation with a BA in Psychology from the University of Minnesota.
