Waley L.

Waley L. is a statistician and machine learning practitioner with over 12 years of experience in statistics and machine learning across various industries. Currently, Waley serves as the Lead Data Scientist at Target, focusing on research and development in demand forecasting and product recommendation algorithms. Previously, Waley held positions at FICO® as a Lead Analytic Scientist, where they researched tree ensembles for credit scoring, and at KLA-Tencor as a Research Scientist, specializing in artificial neural networks. Waley also contributed to projects at Lawrence Livermore National Laboratory and NASA Ames Research Center, developing methodologies and statistical models for various applications. Waley earned a Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering and Computer Science from the University of California, Berkeley and holds a Master’s and a Ph.D. in Statistics and Stochastic Modeling from the University of California, Santa Cruz.
