Gutsche Schmidt is a qualified Chartered Accountant in South Africa with extensive experience across various sectors, including media, entertainment, finance, and fintech. Having begun a career at PwC Cape Town as an auditor, Gutsche advanced to roles at PwC Nederland as a valuation specialist, before transitioning to Amazon as a Senior Category Merchant Manager. Currently serving as Chief Financial Officer at Backd Business Funding and a Financial Advisor at TASKSUITE, Gutsche also held a position at Syncier. Academic qualifications include an MBA from IE Business School focused on entrepreneurship in the fintech sector and an Honours degree in Accounting from Stellenbosch University.
