Rob Hick

Chief Data Officer & Co-founder at Tasman

Rob Hick has a diverse work experience spanning multiple industries and roles in data analytics and marketing. Rob is currently the Chief Data Officer and Co-founder of Tasman Analytics, where they help high-growth companies improve their data usage and build data-informed cultures.

Prior to Tasman Analytics, Rob worked as the VP of Marketing Science and Data Strategy at Beamly from December 2017 to January 2020.

Before that, they were involved with Bright North, first as a Founder and Chief Data Scientist from February 2013 to October 2015, and later as a Non Executive Director from October 2015 to July 2019. At Bright North, Rob combined data science, experience design, and engineering to deliver effective solutions for ecommerce clients.

Rob also has experience at Criteo, where they served as the Business Solutions and Innovation Director from October 2016 to December 2017, and as the Data Science and Analytics Director for Northern Europe from November 2015 to October 2016. In these roles, they focused on performance marketing and measuring ROI through personalized advertising.

Earlier in their career, Rob was the Head of Statistics at Which? from September 2008 to January 2013, where they played a central role in leveraging data availability and analytics for the organization. Before that, they worked as a Senior Statistician, analyzing research results and supporting the wider Insight function.

Rob's early experience includes working as a Senior Data Analyst at the National Blood Service from October 2004 to August 2007.

Rob Hick completed their Master of Science (MSc) in Statistics from Birkbeck, University of London in the year 2005. Prior to that, they obtained their Bachelor of Science (BSc) degree in Geography from The University of Sheffield, which they completed in the year 2000. Furthermore, they obtained the GSTAT certification from the Royal Statistics Society in June 2005.
