Derek Edwards has a long and varied work experience. Derek started their career in 2001 as a Marketing Assistant at Synaptis through the NCSU Co-Op program. In 2004, they became an Assistant General Manager at Damon's Grill. In 2005, they co-founded and sold wholesale travel packages at Live Life...Travel. In 2007, they became a Sales Executive at 123Triad Web Design, consistently exceeding quota at $30,000+ in sales per month. In 2008, they joined iContact as a Senior Sales Executive, delivering consistent 100%+ performance for 4 years until the company was acquired by Vocus in 2012. Derek then became the Director of Small Business Sales and Lead Generation Manager at Vocus, building the small business sales team from scratch to become the #1 team of 20 small business sales teams at Vocus in terms of monthly sales achieved. In 2013, they joined Netsertive as Senior Director of Sales Enablement and Senior Director of Sales, Healthcare, responsible for driving critical strategic initiatives that increase revenue, improve efficiency, and scale sales effectiveness. In 2018, they became Vice President of Global Sales at CloudFactory, responsible for the global sales teams and global sales operations. In 2021, they became Vice President, Sales Development & Sales Operations at Tatango, and a Member at Pavilion.

Derek Edwards attended North Carolina State University - College of Management from 1999 to 2004, where they earned a Bachelor of Science in Business Management.
