Matt Agin has held a variety of roles in the data science and analytics field since 1997. From 1997 to 2004, they worked as an Analyst at Capital One, where they applied mathematical and statistical theories to operational issues and designed statistical models of workloads and staffing requirements. From 2004 to 2007, they held the role of Principal Analyst at AOL, where they designed and analyzed statistical tests to improve efficiency and effectiveness of communications streams. From 2007 to 2011, they worked as Senior Manager of Strategic Analytics at Sirius XM Radio Inc., where they developed explanatory statistical models of relationships between customer attributes and sales rates. From 2011 to 2014, they were Director, Optimization and Analytics at Rocket Fuel Inc., formerly [x+1], where they oversaw website analytics and optimization for two of the company’s largest clients. From 2014 to 2017, they were Director, Analytics and Predictive Modeling at Rocket Fuel Inc., where they built predictive segmentation models used to differentiate online marketing treatments. From 2017 to 2019, they were Director Statistician at Neustar, Inc., and they currently hold the role of Director, Data Science at Tatari.

Matt Agin began their educational journey in 1988, when they attended The Wharton School and obtained a Bachelor of Science in Economics with a concentration in Business Administration. Matt also attended the University of Pennsylvania during this time, where they earned a Bachelor of Arts in Mathematics. In 1992, Matt continued their studies at the University of Maryland, where they obtained a Master of Arts in Mathematics in 1996.
