Additionally, Tom was a Joint Capabilities Analyst, a role in which they focused on integrating joint warfighting capabilities into joint training events, and a Joint Training Analyst, where they coordinated efforts to standardize taxonomy and lexicon for joint military operations and training.

Tom Fix attended the United States Military Academy at West Point from 1971 to 1975, where they studied Engineering. Following this, they pursued a Master of Mass Communication degree at the University of South Carolina from 1982 to 1983. Finally, in 1989 to 1990, Tom enrolled at the Command and General Staff College, focusing on Military Operational Art and Science/Studies.
