Chris Holmes

Chris Holmes is an accomplished professional in the geospatial and technology sectors, currently serving as a Planet Fellow at Planet since 2013, where contributions include product management, product strategy, and partnerships. Extensive experience includes roles as Senior Vice President of Product Management and Head of Product at Planet, as well as advisory positions with companies like Cloud-Native Geospatial Foundation and CartoDB. Chris is a founding member of the Cloud-Native Geospatial movement and has held significant roles at organizations such as Radiant Earth Foundation and the Open Geospatial Consortium. With a background in establishing open geospatial standards and a track record of driving innovation and commercialization initiatives, Chris continues to influence the field through strategic guidance and collaboration across multiple platforms. Chris holds a BA in History from Stanford University.
