TCHNO is a female-led organization dedicated to developing Kenya’s underground techno scene by fostering inclusivity, education, and artistic freedom. Founded in 2021, TCHNO provides a platform for artists to explore diverse techno sub-genres, experiment with live production, and connect with a growing community of creatives. Through curated events, panel discussions, and international collaborations, we are shaping the techno scene in Kenya.

Our mission is to develop Kenyan techno artists by creating diverse platforms for education and expression. We believe in making techno nights more inclusive, amplifying female artists, and expanding the local understanding of techno culture. By collaborating with other collectives and adapting to the evolving electronic music landscape, we continue to build community across regions.

Since our inception, we have hosted over 11 community gatherings, organized 8 panel discussions, supported more than 35 Kenyan artists in performing techno, and brought 5 international techno acts to Nairobi. In 2024, we released the first Kenyan techno-inspired EP [RE]FORM inspired by the revolutionary protests in Kenya.

At TCHNO, we are more than just a collective—we are a movement. Our vision is to establish a thriving and inclusive techno culture in Kenya while developing a distinctive Kenyan techno sound that is recognized globally.
