Rick Copeland has diverse work experience in various roles and industries. Rick started their career in 1997 as the owner of Rick Copeland Consulting, providing custom software and hardware development services. From 2000 to 2002, they worked as a Senior Systems Engineer at Proceler, developing an ANSI C to FPGA compiler. Rick then worked as a Business Programmer Analyst at Assurant Solutions from 2003 to 2005. In 2005, they became a Research Engineer at the Georgia Institute of Technology, managing a team and developing a compiler. From 2006 to 2009, they worked as a Senior Software Engineer at Predictix, creating various applications for retail clients. From 2009 to 2012, they were the Lead Software Engineer at Geeknet. In 2012, they became a Principal Consultant at Arborian Consulting, LLC while also serving as the CEO and Cofounder of Synapp.io. In 2017, they founded Carefolio and served as the Co-Founder and CEO until 2023. Currently, they are the Vice President of Technology at TCPA.
Rick Copeland has a Master of Science degree in Electrical and Computer Engineering from Georgia Institute of Technology, which they obtained from 1997 to 1999. Prior to that, they completed their Bachelor of Computer Engineering degree at Georgia Institute of Technology from 1993 to 1996. Rick began their higher education journey at Eckerd College, where they earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Computer Science from 1991 to 1993.
