Lead Data Scientist at TD Reply

Alex Tello, Ph.D, is a Lead Data Scientist at TD Reply starting in June 2023. Prior to this role, they worked as a Senior Data Scientist at the same company from July 2022 to July 2023. In this role, they led the Geo-Analytics project for Coca-Cola, deploying a machine learning-powered tool to target specific geographies and maximize product sell out. This success led to the acquisition and expansion of the client portfolio. Before that, they worked as a Data Scientist at TD Reply from January 2021 to July 2022, where they supported projects such as Coca-Cola Spotlight and Adidas CRM.

Prior to their work at TD Reply, Alex was a Researcher at Universitat Politècnica de Catalunya from January 2015 to July 2020. Alex'sresearch focused on Fluid-Structure Interaction (FSI) using Reduced Order Models (ROM) and the Variational Multi-Scale Method (VMS). Some of their achievements include developing an efficient Field to Field coupling strategy for FSI and achieving exceptional accuracy for a Reduced Order Fluid Structure Interaction formulation.

Alex also has experience in sales, having worked as a Sales Consultant at FloraQueen from February 2019 to March 2020. In this role, they were part of a multi-lingual international sales team and provided customer assistance in English, Spanish, and Polish.

Earlier in their career, Alex worked as an Engineer Intern at Buildair Ingeniería y Arquitectura S.A. in 2013 and as a Research Programmer at CTTC from January 2011 to December 2012.

Alex Tello Ph.D obtained a Doctor of Philosophy - PhD in Applied Mathematics from Universitat Politècnica de Catalunya from 2015 to 2020. Prior to that, they earned a Master's degree in Applied Mathematics from the same institution from 2013 to 2015. They also hold a Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering from Universidad de Los Andes, which was earned from 2005 to 2010. In addition to their formal education, Alex Tello has also obtained certifications in Natural Language Processing from Coursera, including Natural Language Processing with Probabilistic Models, Natural Language Processing with Sequence Models, and Natural Language Processing with Classification and Vector Spaces.
