Te Pou
Mark Smith is a seasoned professional with extensive experience in mental health and ethics. As a Board Member for the Northern Regional Ethics Committee since February 2014, Mark contributes to a statutory committee appointed by the Ministry of Health. In addition, Mark serves as Clinical Lead at Te Pou, a national role focused on integrating outcome measures within the mental health and addiction sector. Mark has held various positions including Clinical Lead, Psychiatric Nurse, Nurse Practitioner, and Lecturer across multiple health authorities and educational institutions since 1985. Academically, Mark holds a PhD in Philosophy from The University of Waikato, a BHSc from Auckland University of Technology, an MSc from the University of Liverpool, and a PGDPsych focusing on young people's mental health from the University of Melbourne.

We're a source of information, tools, resources and support to inform service and workforce planning and development. Te Pou is a part of the Wise Group and is funded by the Ministry of Health.
