Ben Locke

Ben Locke currently serves as the Michigan Executive Director for Teach Plus, following a tenure as Michigan State Director. Prior experience includes work as the Outreach Director at Educators for Excellence, emphasizing the recruitment and mobilization of educators for teacher-led policy initiatives. Ben has also held positions as a Policy and Advocacy Fellow with Leadership for Educational Equity, a Social Studies Teacher at Chicago Jesuit Academy, and a History Teacher at Perspectives Charter Schools, where innovative teaching methods significantly improved student performance. Earlier in the career, Ben contributed as a Curriculum Creator at Learn Without Limits and a Freelance Editor for educational content. Educational qualifications include a Master of Arts in Teaching from The Johns Hopkins University and a Bachelor’s degree in History and Political Science from Augustana College.
