HaMy Vu

HaMy Vu has a diverse range of work experience in the education sector. HaMy currently serves as a Board Member for Restorative Practices in Action, a organization focused on empowering students in urban schools. Prior to this, HaMy held the position of Chief Operating Officer at Teaching Lab, where they oversaw program evaluation, HR, finance, and operations. HaMy also served as Managing Director of Organizational Learning & Operations and Managing Director of Learning & Research at Teaching Lab.

Before their time at Teaching Lab, HaMy worked at UnboundEd.org as the Senior Director of Research and Design, leading the development and analysis of the organization's professional development and coaching services. HaMy also held the role of Director of Research and Evaluation at UnboundEd.org.

HaMy's previous experience includes being a Fellow of Teacher and Leader Effectiveness at the Regents Research Fund, where they provided guidance on data analysis and policy recommendations related to teacher and leader effectiveness. HaMy also worked at the NYC Department of Education in various roles, including Director of Research, Project Manager for the Measures of Effective Teaching Project, and Manager of Talent Analytics.

Additionally, HaMy has experience in the charter school sector as an Intern to the Executive Director at the Rhode Island League of Charter Schools. HaMy began their career in education as a Corps Member for Teach For America, where they taught in Philadelphia and New York City.

HaMy Vu's education history begins with their high school education at the Bronx High School of Science, where they obtained their HS Diploma. After completing their high school education, they attended Cornell University from 2000 to 2004, where they earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Policy Analysis and Management. Later, they pursued further education at Brown University from 2008 to 2009, where they obtained a Master of Arts degree in Urban Education Policy.

In addition to their academic degrees, HaMy Vu has also obtained additional certifications. In March 2014, they completed the Developing Leaders Program for Nonprofit Professionals at Columbia Business School. Furthermore, in April 2022, they obtained certification in the Senior Leaders Program for Nonprofit Professionals, also from Columbia Business School.
