Olivia McAuliffe

Senior Scientist

Olivia McAuliffe is a Principal Scientist at the Teagasc Food Research Centre, where they lead the Cultures, Fermentation and Biotransformation research programme and serve as Lead for Circular Food Systems at the Teagasc Climate Centre. They hold the position of Honorary Professor at Queen's University Belfast and have published over 120 peer-reviewed articles focused on food cultures, fermentation, and the application of phages in controlling pathogenic microorganisms. Olivia previously engaged in post-doctoral research at University College Cork and North Carolina State University. They earned a PhD in Molecular Microbiology and a B.Sc in Microbiology from University College Cork.
