Elise Valoe has a strong background in design research and strategy, with experience in various leadership roles. Elise currently works at Teague as the Director of Design Research and Strategy. Prior to joining Teague, Elise worked at Steelcase for many years in different positions. Elise was the Director of Global Research and Innovation from March 2020 to October 2023, where they oversaw the integration of technology into furniture product solutions and managed a research lab in the Asia Pacific region. Before that, they held the role of Manager of Global Research from March 2013 to March 2020, where they led advanced product development teams and generated actionable insights for product strategies. Elise also worked as a Senior Design Researcher from March 2010 to March 2013, exploring physical and digital health experiences through research and prototyping, and as a Design Researcher from January 2006 to March 2010, leading research projects and contributing to the development of the active learning product portfolio.
Elise Valoe has a Master's degree in Design from the Illinois Institute of Technology. Elise also completed the Foresight Practitioner Training program at the Institute for the Future - IFTF in 2016. Additionally, they pursued studies in Complexity Theory at the Santa Fe Institute. Elise Valoe holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in Fine and Studio Arts from the University of Wisconsin-Madison.
