Team EDEN marks a new direction for student teams at TU/e: using technology to directly understand and help strengthen biodiversity. 🌱

Healthy ecosystems are the silent foundation supporting our economic resilience and social stability. Yet biodiversity has been declining at an alarming rate, and many ecosystems are under increasing pressure. If we want to preserve what nature provides, before critical tipping points are reached, we must better understand and monitor its condition.

That is why our mission is to give nature a voice.

Team EDEN provides innovative monitoring solutions and translates biodiversity data into meaningful insights. Our first challenge: the 300,000+ km of Dutch ditches, the lifelines of our landscape, rich in ecological potential yet largely under-monitored. 💧

We are a multidisciplinary team with 15 members, from 5 different educational institutes and 10 distinct study programs, including students from TU/e, HAS Green Academy, and Tilburg University. This diversity is crucial for our focus on combining technological expertise with ecological knowledge and collaborating with land and water stakeholders to create real impact.
