William Porter

Director, Long Term Recovery at Team Rubicon

William Porter has a diverse work experience spanning various roles and organizations. William started their career in 2000 as an Antiterrorism Officer in the United States Air Force, where they focused on emergency preparedness and facility security. In 2004, they transitioned to the Air Force Office of Special Investigations as a Special Agent/Criminal Investigator, conducting a range of investigations and evidence handling. After leaving the military, William joined the National Voluntary Organizations Active in Disaster in 2022 as a Director on the Board of Directors, working to coordinate disaster response efforts among numerous organizations. Currently, they hold the position of Operations Director - Operations Support Branch at Team Rubicon, where they oversee critical teams and facilitates humanitarian response and recovery operations. Throughout their career, William has demonstrated skills in operations management, planning, and collaboration with diverse stakeholders.

William Porter attended American Military University from 2011 to 2013, where they obtained a Bachelor of Arts degree in Military Intelligence, General. In addition, they have obtained several certifications including L-964 NIMS/ICS All-Hazards Position Specific Situation Unit Leader (SITL) Course from FEMA in 2015, L-950 NIMS/ICS All-Hazards Position Specific Incident Commander (IC) Course from FEMA in 2014, Professional Development Series from FEMA in 2014, and Interview and Interrogations (Advanced) as well as Interview and Interrogations (Basic) from John E. Reid & Associates, Inc. in 2004.
