Mark Ford has a diverse work experience spanning multiple companies and roles. Starting in 1998 at Quelsys, LLC, they served as the Chief Architect and led a team in developing a standards-based hosted e-Learning application. Mark also created Java-based tools for content creation and integrated the application with CRM systems.
From 2003 to 2008, Ford worked at Active Endpoints as the Director of Research and Development. Mark was responsible for writing code for their BPEL engine, conducting code reviews, mentoring, designing new features, and providing support to customers.
At Softrax in 2008, Ford worked as a Senior Solution Architect, designing and implementing revenue recognition business processes using WS-BPEL, Java, XQuery, and XSLT.
From 2009 to 2013, Ford served as an SOA Architect at MIT Lincoln Laboratory, where they worked on service-oriented architecture design and integration tasks. Mark developed machine-to-machine automated planning and tasking engines and integrated legacy sensor systems into an ESB and Web 2.0 environment.
Ford joined Ipswitch, Inc. in 2013 as a Senior Manager, leading a small team of developers and focusing on next-generation products. Mark also supported other projects through architectural design reviews and mentoring.
As a Consulting Engineer at massfords llc from 2016 to 2020, Ford was part of a team working with Allegiant Airlines. Mark was involved in various aspects, including build and release processes, design, and implementation of shopping and booking services. The main focus was transitioning from a monolithic reservation management system to microservices, eventing, and a rules engine.
At NGS in 2021, Ford worked as a Senior Software Engineer, designing and implementing a message broker and processor for Link16 radio communications. Mark also created tooling to automate the extraction of message definitions from PDF specifications, ensuring correctness and reducing manual effort.
From 2021 to 2022, Ford worked at RECUR as a Principal Engineer, rapidly developing a serverless e-commerce platform for NFTs. Mark supported multiple payment providers and expanded the platform to include additional payment options, the ability to sell NFTs, and wire transfers.
Most recently, Ford joined Mercury in 2022 as a Principal Software Engineer.
Mark Ford attended Harvard Extension School from 2009 to 2015, where they earned a Masters of Liberal Arts (ALM) in Information Technology, with a focus on Software Engineering. Prior to that, from 1988 to 1992, they studied at Boston University, where they obtained a Bachelor of Arts (BA) degree in Philosophy. In 1991, they briefly attended the University of Galway to study Philosophy.
