Wouter van Sas has had extensive work experience in the hospitality industry. Wouter started their career in 2006 in the Horeca sector and worked there until 2012. From 2012 to 2013, they served as an Assistant Restaurant Manager at Nel Restaurant. Wouter then worked as an Assistant Restaurant Manager and later as Restaurant Manager at Franklin Bar & Kitchen from 2013 to 2014. From 2014 to 2016, Wouter held the position of Assistant Restaurant Manager and Sommelier, and later Restaurant Manager and Head Sommelier at Fa. Speijkervet. Wouter then joined Café Partisan in 2016 and worked as a Restaurant Manager and Head Sommelier until 2017. Wouter then transitioned to the wine industry and served as the Wine Director at Pieksman Wijnimport from 2018 to 2021. After that, they worked as a Campaign Manager at Contentway B.V. from 2022 to 2023. Currently, Wouter is employed at Tebi, where they hold a Sales role.
Wouter van Sas has a diverse education history. Wouter first attended Hervormd Lyceum Zuid from 2003 to 2006, where they pursued a higher general secondary education (Havo). Following this, from 2006 to 2009, Wouter studied at Middelbare Hotelschool, specializing in becoming an independent host and aspiring gastronome. Apart from their traditional education, Wouter also acquired several certificates related to wine and spirits. Wouter completed Level 2 and Level 3 courses at both the Wine & Spirit Education Trust and SWEN, earning certifications such as Wijnbrevet and Wijnoorkonde.
