Tor Bjornson is an accomplished engineering professional with extensive experience in the development of automated systems and components. Currently serving as an Engineering Fellow and Director of R&D at Tecan since April 2003, Tor leads a multi-disciplinary team focused on creating advanced pump, valve, and robotic systems in a regulated environment. Previous roles include Director of Engineering at ACLARA Biosciences, where innovative microfluidic systems were developed, and founder of Microtecnica, which produced a specialized instrument platform. Tor’s career also spans positions at Ribogene Inc. and Beckman Instruments, contributing to product development and engineering excellence in the biomedical field. Tor holds both a Master's and Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute.
