Mark Abbott

Mark Abbott, P.Eng. is a seasoned engineering professional with extensive leadership experience across various organizations. Currently serving as Managing Director at Tech Stewardship and Engineering Change Lab, Mark promotes "Technological Stewardship" and fosters collaboration within the engineering community. Additionally, Mark is an Ashoka Fellow, contributing to a global network of social entrepreneurs, and holds the position of Director of Technological Stewardship at MaRS Discovery District, where the Engineering Change Lab is now based. Mark's prior experience includes roles at Engineers Without Borders Canada, where contributions to tackling poverty and inequality were emphasized, and Fransen Engineering, where a successful career spanned over 14 years, advancing from technical work to strategic leadership. Mark Abbott holds a B.A.Sc in Mechanical Engineering from The University of British Columbia and an Executive MBA from Simon Fraser University.
