Jason Gifford

Jason Gifford, MBA has a diverse work experience spanning over two decades. Jason is currently the Director of Engineering: Staff Aug and Latin America at Tech9, where they manage the onboarding and experience of engineers across the globe. Jason oversees the Staff Augmentation platform and ensures high-quality software development and delivery. Jason also develops processes to connect the global workforce and improve their work and lives.

Before joining Tech9, Jason served as the Principal Swiss Army Knife, managing engineers across teams in the staff augmentation vertical at Tech9. Jason was responsible for interviewing and evaluating new Software Test Engineers and also contributed as a product owner as needed.

Prior to Tech9, Jason held the position of Director of Software Testing at Tech9. Jason has also worked as a Senior Software QA Engineer at the company.

Earlier in their career, Jason held leadership roles at OrangeSoda, Precyse Solutions, and ProPay, Inc. At OrangeSoda, they were the Director of Software Quality Assurance, where they developed highly agile software quality engineers and directed manual testing efforts. At Precyse Solutions, they served as the Software Quality Assurance Manager and played a key role in transitioning teams from Waterfall to Agile/Scrum methodology. At ProPay, Inc, they worked as a Production Support Engineer, focusing on SQL queries, data analysis, and reporting.

Jason began their career as a Software Engineer at Service Repair Solutions, where they initially worked as a Quality Assurance Engineer. Jason tested DataWarehouse processes and reports before transitioning into software engineering. Jason created a RESTful Webservice using Ruby on Rails to gamify workplace processes.

Before entering the software industry, Jason worked as a Sportsbeat Intern at KSL ch 5 and as a Senior Deckhand at Kenai Fjords Tours, where they guided and narrated tours, maintained boats and docks, and ensured passenger safety.

Jason Gifford, MBA, has a diverse education history. Jason first attended Brigham Young University - Idaho from 1996 to 1999, where they earned an Associate degree in Print Journalism. Following this, from 2000 to 2003, they pursued a Bachelor of Arts in Communications at Brigham Young University, with a focus on Broadcast Journalism and Spanish. More recently, starting in 2021 and continuing until 2023, Jason pursued and earned a Master of Business Administration (MBA) degree in Leadership from Southern Utah University.
