Eric Carlson

Eric Carlson has extensive work experience in the technology and insurance industries. Currently, they are the Chief Technology Officer at Techficient, a position they have held since 2022. Prior to this, Eric served as the Senior Director of IT Application Development at National General Insurance from 2018 to 2022. In this role, they provided strategic guidance on technology adoption and secure application development. Eric also held the position of Director of IT Application Development at National General Insurance from 2018 to 2021, where they managed the software development life cycle and collaborated with business leaders to deliver technology solutions.

Before joining National General Insurance, Eric worked at Covr Financial Technologies as the Chief Technologist and Head of Technology. At Covr, they focused on technological growth and development, including the integration of new technologies with business processes. Eric also held roles at National Brokerage, where they served as the Director of Technology, Lead Developer, and Architect from 2008 to 2016. In this position, they led a team of software developers and played a key role in IT management, business development, and operations.

Eric's career began at their own software consulting firm, Boise Coding and Design, where they served as the Owner and Lead Engineer from 1999 to 2014. In this role, they created software and web-based applications for various industries and prioritized improving business process efficiency and driving sales through technology innovation.

Eric Carlson attended Boise State University from 1999 to 2004, where they earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering. In addition to their degree, they obtained certifications such as Microsoft Certified Professional (Developing Microsoft Azure Solutions) in January 2018 and Engineer In Training in June 2004.
