Alan B. Cardenas

Alan B. Cardenas is a seasoned legal executive with extensive experience in corporate law, currently serving as the Senior Vice President, General Counsel, and Secretary at Coursera since September 2021. Cardenas leads global Legal, Compliance, Regulatory, and Government Relations functions and is a member of the Executive Leadership Team. Previous roles include Vice President and Deputy General Counsel at Coursera, as well as Head of Corporate Legal at Siemens Energy and General Counsel for the Siemens Foundation. Cardenas also has substantial experience at Siemens in various legal capacities, including Lead Counsel for Central Functions and Senior Counsel for M&A. Cardenas is a Charter Member of TechGC, an exclusive peer community for General Counsels. Academic credentials include a Juris Doctor from Rutgers Law School and a Bachelor's degree in History and Political Science from Rutgers University.
