Derek Smith is an entrepreneurial legal executive with 20 years of experience empowering high-growth companies such as Palantir, Airbnb, and Sonar to scale. They have built and led diverse teams of over 20 members, managing a comprehensive range of legal matters including corporate, compliance, and intellectual property. Derek co-founded an in-house legal network that supports over 800 members through various initiatives. Currently, they serve as General Counsel at Sonar and as a fractional general counsel for multiple innovative technology companies while pursuing advanced degrees from the University of Oxford and Yale Law School.
