Yan Sun

Yan Sun, Ph.D., serves as a Senior Data Scientist at John Deere since January 2024. Prior to this role, Yan Sun worked as Scientist III at DuPont from July 2021 to December 2022, leading projects focused on next-generation thermal and EMI management products, and providing technical support for data-driven decision-making. Additionally, during the tenure at Laird Performance Materials from September 2016 to June 2021 as Scientist III, Yan Sun defined problems, contributed to project roadmaps, and applied quantitative methods to enhance products and services. Yan Sun earned a Ph.D. in Polymer Engineering from The University of Akron, where research included the development of a newly synthesized block copolymer to optimize polymer nanocomposite structures. A Bachelor's degree in Polymer Science and Engineering was obtained from Beijing University of Chemical Technology from 2007 to 2011.
