John Best has a diverse work experience spanning several industries. John began their career in 2002 as a Bartender at Hard Times Billiards, where they worked until 2008. In 2007, they worked as an Applecare Advisor at Volt, providing phone support for PC and Mac systems, as well as resolving iPhone customer concerns. From 2009 to 2016, they served as an Emergency Dispatcher at AmeriGas. In 2010, they joined LoTN LLC as a Member, handling software and hardware support, marketing, purchasing, and budgeting. In 2012, they became the President and CEO of Computer Consumer Inc, overseeing various aspects of the company. Most recently, from 2016 to 2019, they served as a Desktop Support Lead at CompuCom, managing an IT team and providing technical oversight.

John Best attended Sierra College from 2005 to 2008, where they earned an Associate of Science (AS) degree in Computer Science and Computer Service Technology. In addition to their formal education, they have obtained several certifications, including "Counterintelligence Concerns for National Security Adjudicators" and "OPSEC Awareness for Military Members, DoD Employees and Contractors" from the Defense Counterintelligence and Security Agency (DCSA). John also obtained certifications such as "Education Professional Development for Your Customers" and "Gaming Market: Opportunities and Challenges" from Intel Corporation. Furthermore, they acquired certifications in topics such as "Suspicious Emails," "Thwarting The Enemy: Providing Counterintelligence & Threat Awareness to the Defense Industrial Base," and "CI Foreign Travel Briefing" from the Defense Counterintelligence and Security Agency (DCSA). Additionally, they completed the "Combat Methamphetamine Epidemic Act Requirements" certification from the Drug Enforcement Administration. Lastly, they obtained a "California Life Only and Accident & Health Combo + Code & Ethics - 52 Hours" certification from PrelicenseTraining.
