Techna Glass was founded in 1991 by Mr. Troy Mason, whose family has generations of experience in the glass industry. His father worked in the glass industry for more than three decades, which enabled Troy a natural transition into the industry. His ability to understand the emerging needs of auto glass customers within the Salt Lake City market led him to the realization that the consumers relied upon his unrelenting quest for quality products and services. The Company opened its first retail location in September of 1992 on a busy Salt Lake City corner just off a major freeway exit. This location became a catalyst to the company's existing 16 prime retail locations. Techna Glass began as a typical full-service glass shop, offering a variety of glass related products and services. In 1997, Techna Glass opened two stores in one year. Techna Glass then executed a program of retail growth, refining its operations to specialize in auto glass repair and replacement. In 2001, the growth of Techna Glass began to surge. Consumers responded positively to an auto glass repair and replacement company that provided high-quality services in prime retail locations. This response continues to the current day as Techna Glass has opened an average of more than one new location every year since 2001. Techna Glass opened its first distribution warehouse in 1996 to further accommodate growth and facilitate buying efficiencies. The additional warehouse capacity has allowed Techna Glass to truly maximize economies of scale. Techna Glass placed itself in the enviable position of purchasing the product directly from manufacturers around the world. The result: Techna Glass offers industry-leading service, quality, and price to its valued retail customers.
