Avi (Abraham) Shaviv is a Professor Emeritus in the Department of Environmental, Water, and Agricultural Engineering at Technion-IIT, having served in various capacities, including as Head of the Grand Water Research Institute from 2012 to 2014. They held a professorial position from 1983 to 2011, focusing on Soil and Environmental Chemistry, and chaired the Dhalia Greidinger Symposium in 2016 dedicated to global food and water security. Avi completed a PhD in Soil Science at Technion and holds a BSc and MSc in Physical Chemistry from The Hebrew University. Their postdoctoral studies were conducted at the University of California, Riverside.
