Jacob Rubinstein

Professor

Jacob (Koby) Rubinstein served as President of the Israel Mathematical Union from 2016 to 2018. Rubinstein has an extensive academic background, including a professorship at Technion - Israel Institute of Technology from 1988 to 2012, where contributions included research on mathematical models in optics, physiology, and medicine. Additionally, Rubinstein held leadership roles at Technion, including Chairman of the Mathematics Department and Vice President for Research. From 1998 to 2012, Rubinstein was the Founder and Chief Scientist of Inray Ltd., a company that developed algorithms and software for the ophthalmic market, which was subsequently acquired by Shamir Optical in 2012. Rubinstein earned a Doctor of Philosophy in Mathematics from New York University between 1982 and 1985.
